Frequently Asked Questions
General FAQs:
What types of treatments do you offer?
Oculoplastics & Aesthetics offers a broad range of services including oculoplastics surgery including blepharoplasty, ptosis repair, eyelid lesion removal, tear duct surgery, aesthetic treatments such as injectables, laser treatments, body sculpting, reconstructive procedures, and wellness services like weight management injections.
How do I know which treatment is right for me?
Choosing the right treatment can depend on a variety of factors, including your aesthetic goals, skin type, overhealth. At our practice, we are committed to guiding you through every step of the process to ensure you make informed decisions tailored to your unique needs.
Each patient will start by undergoing an initial consultation process where personalized recommendations are based on individual needs and goals. Our team will also explain the details of each recommended treatment, including how they work, what results you can expect, and the associated downtime or aftercare
Is there downtime associated with these treatments?
After eyelid surgery, such as a blepharoplasty, patients can expect a recovery period of around 1 to 2 weeks. During the first few days, swelling and bruising around the eyes are normal and may peak around day 2 or 3, gradually reducing thereafter. Many patients find that they’re able to resume light activities within a week but may still experience mild swelling or bruising that can last for 2 weeks or more.
Pricing, Insurance, and Financing Options
What payment options do you accept?
We accept all major credit card companies (Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Discover), check, and exact cash.
Are aesthetic treatments covered by insurance?
Most aesthetic treatments and surgeries are considered elective and, therefore, self-pay. However, there are situations where a procedure may qualify for insurance coverage if it meets specific medical criteria. In these cases, the surgery would be processed through your insurance benefits and may be subject to co-pays, deductibles, and/or co-insurance. No matter the circumstance, our team is dedicated to ensuring you understand all cost details for any recommended treatments, so you can make fully informed decisions.
Do you offer package deals or membership programs?
Currently, Oculoplastics & Aesthetics does not offer a membership program. However, we provide bundled discounts on select services based on the treatment plan recommended for each individual. Additionally, we feature monthly promotions with various discounts and package deals. To be among the first to hear about these offers, sign up for our monthly newsletter here.
Pre- and Post-Procedure Care
What should I do to prepare for my procedure?
Approximately one week before your scheduled surgery, our office will reach out to review essential pre- and post-operative instructions. If your procedure is taking place at a hospital or ambulatory surgery center, you will generally need to complete a pre-operative physical exam with your primary care provider and discontinue any blood-thinning medications prior to surgery. For over-the-counter blood thinners, patients may typically stop these per surgeon guidelines. However, for prescription blood thinners, it is important to consult with your prescribing physician before discontinuing.
When will I see results from my surgery, and how long do they last?
Most patients begin to see the results of their eyelid surgery around six weeks after the procedure. For some, improvements in incision healing and residual swelling may continue gradually over the next several months, with the full results becoming apparent by nine months. While minor residual swelling may persist as the delicate eyelid tissues settle, the eyes will appear noticeably refreshed, more alert, and youthful. Incision lines generally fade within 3 to 6 months, though slight scarring may remain for some patients.
What post-treatment care will I need after my surgery?
In the initial days to weeks following surgery, patients will follow a regimen that includes ice and warm compresses, along with prescribed ointments, drops, and over-the-counter medications as needed. Our staff will make sure you leave with comprehensive discharge instructions tailored to your specific procedure.
